WhatsApp's new feature that makes life easy
WhatsApp's new feature that makes life easy
WhatsApp is used by more than 2 billion people worldwide. But nowadays, people are changing smartphones very quickly, which is why transferring WhatsApp data from one Android phone to another via Google Drive seems complicated. But Meta's proprietary messaging app has now made the process much easier, at least for Android phone users.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, the beta version of WhatsApp has introduced a new feature to transfer WhatsApp data from one Android phone to another via Wi-Fi. This feature will eliminate the need for Google Drive to transfer data and it will be possible with a QR code.
This new chat feature is available to a few users in WhatsApp beta versions 2.23.1.26 and 2.23.1.27.
It's also very easy to use, whenever you install WhatsApp on a new Android device, choose the Import Chats option.
- Doing so will open the device's camera to scan the QR code.
- Go to WhatsApp settings on your old device and select the Export Data option, which will bring up a QR code.
- Then scanning the QR code from the new device will transfer the data.
This new feature will not only make the process of transferring chat data easier but also speed up the process. Transferring data over Wi-Fi is faster than downloading data from a cloud service .As mentioned above this feature has been introduced in the beta version i.e. it is undergoing testing stages and is not yet available to general users.
It is not yet clear when it can be rolled out to all users, but the feature will likely be available to everyone in the coming months.
